Overview

The Texas Center for Learning Disabilities (TCLD) includes researchers at the University of Houston and the Vaughn Gross Center for Reading and Language Arts at The University of Texas at Austin. The team investigates the response to intervention (RTI) of students with reading difficulties through four projects. One examines RTI with at-risk readers in grades 1 and 2, another researches RTI in grades 6–8, the third examines how RTI should be measured and interpreted, and the fourth (implemented only at the University of Houston) uses brain scan technology to examine how processing patterns differ in students who do and do not respond well to reading intervention. More information can be found at the TCLD external website.
