Overview
The Texas Center for Learning Disabilities includes researchers at the University of Houston and the Vaughn Gross Center for Reading and Language Arts. The team will investigate the Response to Intervention (RTI) of students with reading difficulties through four projects. One will examine RTI with at-risk readers in grades 1 and 2, another will research RTI in grades 6–8, the third will examine how RTI should be measured and interpreted, and the fourth (implemented only at the University of Houston) will use brain scan technology to examine how processing patterns differ in students who do and do not respond well to reading intervention. More information can be found at the project's website www.texasldcenter.org.
