Overview

The College and Career Readiness Initiative: English/Language Arts Faculty Collaborative (CCRI) is a P–16 initiative that engages faculty members from Texas universities that offer teacher education programs and strengthens the college and work force readiness of Texas students through the improved preparation of teacher candidates. The Meadows Center coordinates the collaborative for English/language arts faculty. Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi leads the initiative for science faculty, Texas State University for mathematics faculty, and The University of Texas at Arlington for social studies faculty.

Purpose

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has established the following the overall goals:

  1. Provide university faculty with the latest information regarding implementation of the College and Career Readiness Standards.
  2. Provide opportunities for faculty members to seek clarification regarding implementation issues.
  3. Facilitate the development of an action plan to support implementation of the College and Career Readiness Standards at each campus.
