Projects
Researchers of the Language for Learning Institute conduct the following projects. They are described in further detail in the Projects section of our website.
Intervention Research
- Center for Research and Educational Achievement and Teaching of English Language Learners: This project addresses the critical need to provide effective instruction for English language learners in content area classes in seventh grade.
Translational Research
- Academic Vocabulary for Fifth- to Seventh-Grade English Language Learners in Texas: This project identified academic vocabulary for fifth- to seventh-grade English language learners in Texas in English language arts and mathematics and promoted academic vocabulary instruction through the dissemination of a resource for Texas teachers.
- Texas Institute for the Acquisition of Language for Learning: This project assists secondary schools with their programs of instruction for English language learners and provides various professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators.
