About the Institute
Overview
Dr. Brandy R. Maynard, Dr. Dan Robinson, and Dr. Sharon Vaughn direct this institute, which is dedicated to increasing understanding of the potential causes of and interventions that may prevent school dropout (K–20) and increase school engagement. The strands of research within this institute focus on early intervention (pre-K–5), secondary intervention (6–12), and postsecondary intervention (college and graduate).

Researchers from MCPER, the Vaughn Gross Center for Reading and Language Arts (one of our partner centers), and the Department of Educational Psychology in The University of Texas at Austin's College of Education make up this institute.
